Ann M Barnett

Ann M. Barnett, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at the age of 83. A resident of Yonkers, NY, Ann lived a life dedicated to family, faith, and education.

Born on April 11, 1941, to Peter and Mary McGuckin, Ann was the devoted wife of the late Richard M. Barnett. Together, they built their family in the Bronx. She was the cherished mother of Richard P. Barnett (deceased) and Robert Barnett and mother-in-law to Diane Barnett and Maureen Barnett. Ann’s grandchildren—Owen, Kerrianne, Julia, Molly, and Ryan—were her greatest pride and joy, and she delighted in their achievements. She will also be deeply missed by her sisters, Eileen Weimann (the late Paul) and Patricia (James) Mullen, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Ann dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as an elementary school teacher. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she shared her passion for books with her students, family, and friends. A proud Irish American, Ann celebrated her heritage and traditions, passing them on to future generations. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found great solace and strength as a devoted follower of Mary, the Virgin Mother.

Ann’s faith and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched.

Services to honor and celebrate Ann’s life will be held at Wyman-Fischer Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY, on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Aedan’s Church in Pearl River, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emerson Health and Rehabilitation Center, Emerson, N.J., who took amazing care of Ann when she needed a helping hand.
