It is bittersweet that we, the Loughran Family, announce that our matriarch Alice Meehan Loughran has been called home. A devoted Catholic, Alice had a special connection with her Lord. A loving daughter and sister, she was born to John and Mary Meehan and raised in the Bronx, New York. It was there that she met her beloved husband of 63 years Michael Loughran, Sr.
Alice and Mike fell in love, married, and started a family eventually moving to Pearl River, NY, where their family continued to grow. Alice was a devoted wife and mother to her six children. She cherished time with extended family and friends at her favorite place, Kinderhook Lake. She loved to see her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends spending time together. Family and sharing the blessings God gave her is what made Alice happiest.
She is survived by her loving husband Michael Loughran, Sr., beloved children John Loughran, Kevin Loughran, Terrence Loughran, Ann-Theresa Mueller, and Christa-Ann Loughran-Mellozzo; Daughters-in-law Sue Loughran, Hope Loughran, Pamela Loughran, and Carolyn Loughran; Sons-in-law John Mueller and John Mellozzo, and Chosen son Joel Gerardi. Her legacy will continue to grow through her grandchildren Brielle Miller(Michael), Noelle Loughran, Bridget Rizza(Brendan), Michael Loughran III, Kaitlyn Wolf(Matthew), Colleen Loughran, Thomas Loughran, Ashley Doonan(James), John James Loughran II, Jake Loughran-Glum, Allison Loughran, Devin Miranda, Maeve Loughran, Michael Loughran, Terrence Loughran II, John Mueller II, Sean Mueller, John Mellozzo II, Michael Mellozzo, Ryan Mellozzo, and Great-grandchildren Aisley Miller, Finnleigh Miller, Jaxson Rizza, Maddox Rizza, Audrey Doonan, Addison Wolf, Michael Wolf, and Parker Wolf. Her sisters-in-law Patricia Meehan, Anne Meehan Reilly, Catherine Shanley, beloved cousin Theresa Matthews, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends grieve with us. Alice was greeted at Heaven's gates by her son, Michael Loughran Jr. and daughter Mary Loughran along with those family members who had gone before. We know she will wrap us in her Angel's wings when we need her and we will see her again.
The family will receive visitors at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 12 from 2-4 and 7-9.
Mass of Christian burial will be St. Margaret of Antioch Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 13 at 10am.
Burial will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, NY
