Alfredo Escudero Obituary

Alfredo Miguel Escudero of Pearl River, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep the evening of Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Alfredo was 78 years old. Alfredo is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Carmen Escudero (Medina), his daughter, Danielle Kleveno (Escudero), her husband Kolin Kleveno, and their children Mikayla and Greyson.

Alfredo immigrated to America in the 70s from Buenos Aires, Argentina where he was born and raised. Upon arrival to the U.S. he did not know English and the first language he learned was Italian while working at an Italian Restaurant. He enjoyed singing and would even sing to his wife in Italian. He later became fluent in English and proficient in Portuguese.  In addition to working in the restaurant industry he also held jobs as a beverage distributor and a limousine driver, where he happily took people to and from the airport, entertaining them with stories on their ride.

Alfredo had a passion for the arts, in particular music and photography. As a young man he played the guitar in a band called Los Vampiros.  He later shared his love for music with his family and friends, not only by playing the guitar, but also the organ and harmonica.  Alfredo enjoyed photography so you would always find him with his camera draped around his neck ready to capture life’s precious moments.  He also was an avid lover of dogs; they provided him with comfort and joy. We know he is in Heaven playing fetch with them.

Everyone who met him immediately realized what a caring and kind man he was. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and did so with a smile. He made the best of every situation and was a ray of positivity.

The wake will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 4-7pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:30am at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home followed by a burial at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.

In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Alfredo’s memory.
