Agnes Theresa Kolor (neé Fitzpatrick) went to heaven on Saturday, June 5, 2021 reuniting with the love of her life, husband Michael G. Kolor. They lived in Pearl River for 51 happy years. Agnes is the loving mother of Mary and Jim Lawless, Michael and Sue Kolor, Agnes Kolor, and Johanna and Mike Vargas. She is the proud grandmother of Sean, Jimmy, Patrick, Michael A., Samantha, Michael K., Christian and Joseph.
An extraordinarily caring and kind person, Agnes was a homemaker who could not do enough for her family and friends. She was a devout catholic and an active parishioner at St. Margaret’s Church, participating as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD instructor, PTA president, fundraising chairman, and member of the Legion of Mary through the years.
After attending St. John’s University, Queens, NY for three years, Agnes completed her bachelor’s degree at Dominican College in Blauvelt. She worked as a copyeditor at the New York Times for five years before starting her family. She also freelanced for the NYT, the Journal News and other local newspapers over the years. Later in life, she earned a degree as a paralegal and worked in the Blue Hill building.
In her younger years, Agnes won many beauty contests for her striking appearance but her inner beauty, kindness and strength was just as remarkable. She will be forever in our hearts.
