The passing of Virginia Byrnes at the age of 89 leaves a great void for the Byrnes family, but her life and the memories she left behind provide solace for all. Born in 1930 and raised in the Bronx she graduated Walton High School in 1948. She married Jack Byrnes in 1951, one special bond that lasted 66 years. Her children John, Bill, Patty, Tim, Kevin and Kathleen were all with her at her peaceful passing. She lived a full life, one of accomplishment from rearing a large family to having a successful career. Always full of energy, Virginia loved to sew, knit, crochet and create all types of clothes for her family and friends. She loved the beach and ocean, especially with her army of family and friends. Always up for celebrations, dancing and all social occasions,
Virginia’s presence was a welcome sight for all. Constant motion was a trademark, exercise a passion, nothing could slow her down. A best friend anyone would want, she was rich in values, dignified and a class act. We were all very fortunate to have her as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother... we were blessed.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday at St. Aedan R. C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne , NY. Visiting is Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
