Thomas W. Waterman passed Monday, June 3rd, 2019 at the age of 58 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maureen (Mahady) Waterman; his daughter Kathleen (Bruce) Leote; his granddaughter Lara who calls him “Poppa”.
He also leaves behind his parents, Granville and Julia (Murphy) Waterman; grandmother, Anna Murphy; sister, Anne (Doug) Walter; his niece, (Pilar), his nephews, Doug Jr. and Jamie Walter; his BIL, Patrick (Margie) Mahady. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tommy lived much of his childhood in Queens before moving to Pearl River, NY. He joined the NYPD in 1986 and became a trainer for the Mounted Unit. In 2006, he retired after 20 years of service. He then joined the NYC Sandhogs where he was employed until the onset of his illness.
Outside of working, Tommy was an avid Rangers fan, loved riding his Harley Davidson, enjoyed traveling, hunted, watched many movies and was an amazing cook. Nobody makes ribs like Tommy. He could often be found on his deck barbecuing with a cabernet in one hand and a cigar in the other.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Friday at St. Aedan R. C. Church, Pearl River. Visitation will be Thursday from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
