Robert James Fahy (Bob), 78, of Pearl River, New York passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on December 31, 2018.
Bob was born on April 28, 1940, to Martin and Loretta Fahy in Queens, New York. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman and went on the join the NYPD, retiring after 22 years of service. After retiring from the NYPD, he had a long career in executive security.
On November 6, 1965, Bob married Jane Rattigan. They settled in Thiells, New York, where they raised their family and resided until 2014, when they moved to Pearl River. Bob was a hard-working and dedicated family man. There was nothing he would not do for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to golf, travel (especially to Ireland, where his father was born), and accompany Jane on her shopping adventures.
Bob is survived by his children, Dennis and his wife Maggie, Linda Fahy, Courtenay and her husband T.J. Hutmacher, and Colin and his wife Mary Alice; and his six grandchild that he adored; Austin Fahy, Oliver and Eleanor Fahy, and Terence, Abigail, and Luke Hutmacher. He is predeceased by his wife Jane, his son Robert Scott, and his brother Gerard.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 am on Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. Aedan R.C. Church in Pearl River, Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension in Airmont, NY. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 5-9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
