Maureen T. (Saults) Moriarty

Maureen T. Moriarty of New City, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.  She was 86.

Maureen was born May 16, 1933 in New York, NY to Michael and Kathleen Saults.

On September 16, 1961 she married John “Jack” Moriarty at Sacred Heart R. C. Church in the Bronx, NY.  They lived in Riverdale, NY where she was an active parishioner of St. Margaret of Cartona and the Ladies Guild. 

In 1974 she moved to New City where she was active at St. Augustine R. C. Church. She was involved with Catholic Big Sisters, a crossing guard and a member of the New City Seniors.

Maureen will be remembered as a loving wife and mother.  She was active in her children’s lives.  She helped her many friends decorate their homes and was well known for working for local caterers in the New City area.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; son, Michael (Janet) of Poulsbo, WA; daughters, Grace Petronella of Pine Bush, NY and Maura (Jim) Hanigan of Congers, NY; grandchildren, Jacklynne, James, Julianna, Angela, Victoria, Casey, Megan, Christopher and Peter. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard Saults.

A Mass of Christan burial will be celebrated 11:15 AM Saturday at St. Augustine R. C. Church, New City.  Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.  Visiting is Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
