Glenn Weiser Obituary

Glenn B Weiser of Pearl River, NY passed peacefully and painlessly at home on October 10, 2018, contrary to the way he lived.

Born on November 21, 1955 in Manhattan to Matthew and Anna Mae Weiser, Glenn studied culinary arts at BOCES and SUNY Cobleskill and at a very young age helped him achieve his dream of owning his own business, Mollie McGuire’s restaurant in Rockland County, NY.

He went on to successfully own the Nanuet Holiday Florist, known as The Flower Peddler, for over 30 years on Main Street in Nanuet, NY.

As one of four sibling Nanuet High School graduates and an avid sports fan, Glenn had many other accomplishments, four year varsity Track, three year varsity Football, singing in school plays, sponsoring many organizations including youth athletic leagues and contributing historic memorabilia to Facebook’s Rockland’s Greatest, dedicated to Rockland County’s high school sports.

Glenn will be remembered as a hard working, boisterous, tough, but funny guy who lived his life the way he wanted. Sometimes quick to temper, but always lightening quick with a funny story or joke. He was not shy; people always knew when Glenn was in the room.

Many celebrities and sports figures would use his services and stop by his shop to say hi when they were in town, always documented with a selfie posted on Facebook, helping make Glenn a celebrity. Many of his friends from out of town made it a point to stop at his shop first and many have referred to him as the Ambassador of Nanuet.

Glenn was predeceased by his beloved parents and his black lab Whitey. Glenn is survived by his sisters Cathi Higgins and her husband Bill, Teresa Padilla and her husband Craig, His brother Bob and his wife Doreen, His nieces and nephews, John Higgins, Caitlin and Justin Weiser, TeAnna, Ryan and Ashlee Padilla, his Aunt Margaret “Peggy” Hillman and cousin Meg Scalone, and his loyal dog, Zach that was at his side 24/7.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. Anthony R. C. Church, Nanuet.  Visiting is Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.  In lieu of flower friends may send memorial donation in Glenn's name to the Hudson Valley Human Society, 200 Quaker Rd. Pomona, NY 10970.
