Catherine Cicalo

Surrounded by her loving family, Cathy Cicalo, nee Acerbo of Blauvelt NY, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 at The Joe Raso Hospice Residence, after a long courageous battle.  She was 56 years old..
Cathy was born in the Bronx on March 13th, 1962 to Edward and Cathy Acerbo. 
Cathy graduated from Pearl River High School in 1980 and worked for AT&T  for 10 years. She also received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Empire University in 2013, while she was working as a Teachers Assistant for the Pearl River School District. She happily volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, where her troop performed many rewarding and charitable projects and activities.
Cathy enjoyed cooking, decorating, and entertaining in her beautiful home.  She was an avid skier, and shared this passion with her children. Cathy also loved gardening, creating pottery and spending summers at the beach in Seaside Park. Most of all, Cathy cherished her family and friends. 
Cathy will  be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh,  thoughtfulness, and strength. 
Cathy married the love of her life and soulmate John Cicalo on September 16, 1990. Together they have 3 beautiful children, Julia, Cara and Christopher- who were the light of her life.
Cathy was a loving wife, devoted mother, wonderful sister and aunt, loyal friend and adored daughter.  To honor Cathy’s memory we ask that you cherish the happiness she brought to your life everyday.
Cathy is survived by her husband, John and their children, Julia, Cara and Christopher, her father, Edward Acerbo; her sisters, Mary Dizzine (Gary) and Patty Long (Jim) and brothers, Chris (Maria), Michael and Edward Acerbo. She is also survived by her in-laws, Anthony and Noemi Cicalo; sister in-law, Anna Cicalo and brother-in-laws, Anthony (Laurie) and Steven Cicalo. Cathy is also survived by many nieces and  nephews who she loved and cared for over many years. Cathy is predececed by her mother, Cathy Acerbo (1985) and her brother, Thomas Acerbo (1986).
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 Monday at St. Catharine R. C. Church, Blauvelt, NY. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. Visiting is Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
