Benedetto Costa of Pearl River, NY passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Tolstoy Foundation Nursing Home. He was 90.
Mr. Costa was a news stand operator for the NYS Commission for the Blind in New York City for over 33 years.
Ben was born October 11, 1928 in Summit, NJ to Rosario and Diega Costa.
He was a resident of Pearl River for the past 26 years; before that he lived in the Carroll Gardens Section of Brooklyn, NY.
Ben will be remembered for being a railroad enthusiast, his love of reading, listening to baseball games and his healthy appetite.
He is survived by his daughter, Eileen Donohue and son-in-law Billy; grandchildren, Melissa and William and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Marie (January 3, 2018).
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday at St. Aedan R. C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visiting is Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc
