Robert William Keahon of New City, New York passed away peacefully on March 26th surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on November 28th, 1931 to James and Madeline Keahon of Pearl River, New York. He attended Pearl River High School where he met the love of his life, Nancy. They were together for 72 years.
He is predeceased by his brothers James and William Keahon, and he is reunited with Nancy who he lost less than a month ago. While the family is heartbroken, there is comfort in knowing that they are together once again.
He was the owner and operator of Keahon Auto Wreckers Inc. in Haverstraw, New York where he always had a helping hand and a kind word for anyone in need. For all who knew him, his handshake was his word and he lived by the motto “it doesn’t cost anything to smile.” A family man, he was always happiest when everyone was together.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia (Tom) and son Robert (Francine). Lovingly known as Pop to Robert, Michael (Danielle), Allison (Brett) and Sean (Carly). Blessed to be a great grandfather to Robert, Shane, Khloe, Cameron, Lily, Payton, Riley and Chase.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“A race well run. Life’s work well done. And now we rest.”
